Demo Video to SRT Caption Workflow

Use transcription for the first pass
A short product demo, support walkthrough, or training clip can be transcribed into TXT and SRT. The automated SRT gives editors a starting point, but it should be reviewed before publishing.
Review timing separately from wording
A caption can contain the right words at the wrong time. Check the SRT cues around screen changes, button clicks, and moments where a viewer needs the caption to match the visual instruction.
Fix product terms and commands
Speech recognition often struggles with product names, menu labels, file paths, code, and command-line text. Compare these words against the video and the product interface before uploading captions.
Keep captions readable
Long subtitle lines are hard to read on mobile. Split long sentences, remove filler words when appropriate, and make sure the caption still matches the speaker's meaning.
Check rights and privacy
Only transcribe videos you own or are allowed to process. Blur, cut, or avoid sections that show private dashboards, customer data, tokens, or internal systems before publishing captions.
Test in the publishing tool
Upload the SRT to the destination video platform or editor and preview it there. Each platform can handle timing, line breaks, and encoding slightly differently.
